Everything from the 5th Anniversary celebration, including this, has just been making today a crazy good day to be an Arknights fan.

S1 was eps 0-3, and S2 4-6... So... Probably? There's a lot of content to get through, but that's about the pace they've been going. For better or worse it's very much not a series aimed at people who aren't already familiar with the story. More of a highlights reel than anything else. Some exceptionally indulgent fan service. Still fun to see all our favourite terminally ill girls in big coats animated though.

Well, if they going to do that, the whole thing ends up being messier than what happened with TPN season 2 with the level of what they were supposed to cut just to cram all the events happening - because with chapters 7-8 Hypergryph go full VN with it's narrative — and both chapters are literally way longer than the whole S1 and S2 combined.

And I don't think even Yostar even wants to see even the remaining loyal fanbase get royally pissed off with the treatment.

Three episodes a season, just how long are the episodes?

Dunno what "three episodes" means. Both S1 and S2 have eight regular 24-minute episodes per season (as an article written), so 16 total for now.

Each anime season has been 8 episodes, all regular length. The "episodes" Thesarum was referring to are the "Story Episodes" that divide up the game's stages.

Yeah, in game story episodes. Their lengths are pretty variable, but each represents several hours of VN type content. The earlier ones are much shorter, and of course it very much depends on your reading speed, but I'd guess S1 covered about 4-5 hours of reading in its about 2.5 hours of animated content, and S1 10+ hours in it's similar length. Episodes 7 and 8, which conclude Act 1 (the second act because both episodes and acts count from zero) are probably twice as long again, so probably are around 20+ hours.

Chapter 6 (Season 2 eps 5-8) is about twice as long as chapters 0-4 (season 1 ep 1 - season 2 ep 2)
chapter 5 (season 2 eps 3-4) is about half the length of chapter 6 (not exactly)
Chapter 7 has comparable length to chapter 6
Chapter 8 (final chapter of this arc) is nearly double chapter 6
