Steelers' Wideout Antonio Brown Looks to Pokémon to 'Catch 'Em All'

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown revealed his secret inspiration on ESPN's NFL Live on Wednesday. The football player has one particular character he tries to emulate when he's out on the field.

Brown said on the program:

I don't have a number, I just want to catch them all. That's always my goal is to maximize every opportunity and every throw that's coming my way. To be consistent, be a guy Ben [Roethlisberger] can trust, be a guy the team can rely on and just like the Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon, I just want to catch them all.

The inspiration is working for Brown so far. The player completed 136 catches out of 193 attempts last year, the highest in the NFL and a career high for Brown.

How far Antonio Brown's love for Pokémon goes is unknown, but he'd be in good company with self-professed anime fan and Tennessee Titans guard Chance Warmack and Dragon Ball Z enthusiast and MMA fighter Ronda Rousey.
