The 50th anniversary celebration of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is well underway with the first part of the magazine's history on display at an exhibition in Roppongi Hills. Fans who can't attend the exhibition can get a crash course in the magazine's popular properties from the last 50 years through a commemorative karuta card deck. Current characters from One Piece and My Hero Academia to classic works like Harenchi Gakuen and Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho are all represented.
The special deck includes a total of 208 cards made up of 104 torifuda and 104 yomifuda cards. Instead of the traditional poetry found on Uta-garuta decks, these set has key character phrases. For example, Arale from Dr. Slump is depicted on the torifuda with just the symbol "N!" while the corresponding yomifuda contains the whole phrase "Ncha!"
The set costs 2,980 yen (US$ ) and is slated for release on October 10.
