In the game, up to three players take on the role of a novice thief, and join Lupin on a caper to steal to infiltrate an art museum and steal "Maria's Eyes," a fabled gemstone. Players can contact Lupin using a special device, and will find their way to the target while evading variosu traps and the security that Inspector Zenigata has set up.

Crunchyroll streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. The new series moves the story's setting to modern France. While Lupin still uses classic cars and traditional guns like the Walter P38, he also employs the Internet, mobile devices, and other digital gadgets to take on his foes.
