Penguin Meets Penguin in Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan and Shinagawa Aquarium Collaboration
posted on by Kim Morrissy
You can never have too many cute penguins in your life. The adorable Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan anime will be collaborating with the Shinagawa Aquarium from February 15 to 28 to bring even more cuteness into the lives of aquarium-goers.
During the collaboration period, there will be stands and almost life-sized plush doll of the titular Chitose-chan for visitors to take photos with. There will also be a quiz; the first 200 people to get all the answers correct each day will get an original postcard. On top of that, there will be a stamp rally, a mini-exhibit showing off panels from the anime, and a merchandise store.
VAP, which is producing and presenting the anime, released an advertisement for the collaboration on their YouTube channel on January 31.
The "soothing short" manga by Yukiko Natsume follows Chitose, a fluffy Emperor penguin chick living in Kyoto. The stories depict such familiar Kyoto locales as Togetsu-kyō bridge, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine, and Kiyomizu-dera temple from a penguin's perspective, as well as Kyoto cuisine. The anime premiered in October last year.
