Special edition shipping on December 4 includes USB, soundtrack, artbook

Nintendo of America announced at its panel at PAX Prime on Saturday that it will release a special edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X Wii U game. The special edition will include the game, a custom USB drive, a soundtrack, and an artbook. The special edition retails for US$89.99. The standard edition and the special edition both launch in North America on December 4.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, players will join an organization called BLADE, where they must explore the world of Mira and search for "Life Points," or lost pods that contain cryogenically frozen humans, lost when humanity landed on Mira.

Players will also be able to take on quests to find items and defeat monsters for the citizens of the base town, NLA. Helping the citizens will deepen players' bonds with them, which in turn can help players form bonds with other citizens. The game will support online multiplayer for up to four players, but up to 32 players will be able to exchange information.

Monolith Soft's action role-playing game shipped in April in Japan as Xenoblade X.

Tetsuya Takahashi (Xenogears, Xenosaga series, Xenoblade Chronicles) helmed the game's development and collaborated with Yuichiro Takeda and Kazuho Hyodo on the game's script. Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Seraph of the End) composed the game's music.

Nintendo released the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii in Japan in 2010, Europe in 2011, and North America in 2012. Nintendo released Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for the New Nintendo 3DS on April 2 in Europe and April 10 in North America.
