This year's 28th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto's Boruto manga is transferring to Shueisha's V Jump magazine. The next chapter will launch in V Jump's September issue on July 20.
The 27th issue had teased that the 28th issue would have a "big announcement" for Boruto.
Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016, and the manga ran monthly in the magazine. Shueisha published the manga's eighth volume on June 4. The manga inspired a television anime series titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations that premiered in April 2017, and is ongoing.
Viz Media is publishing the manga in English, and is also simulcasting the anime on Hulu and Crunchyroll. Ikemoto previously stated that he hopes to finish the Boruto manga within 30 volumes.
Masashi Kishimoto launched the original Naruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, and ended the series in November 2014. The series has spawned multiple anime, anime films, OVAs, and game adaptations. The Naruto Shippūden anime series ended in March 2017. The manga is inspiring a live-action Hollywood film at Lionsgate.
