Wasabicon PDX, Portland's Annual Anime, Cosplay, and Gaming Event, Returns This Weekend

The 2-Day long pop culture festival will take place at its new location: The Portland Hilton Downtown

(PORTLAND, OREGON. July 23, 2022) WasabiCon PDX is a two-day pop culture convention for fans of Asian pop culture, cosplay, and gaming. Previously operating under the names Newcon PDX and Fandom PDX, the event (under new ownership since 2018) is set to welcome artists, vendors, and media guests the weekend of July 30-31, 2022 at its new location, the Hilton Portland Downtown.

WasabiCon PDX will feature over forty exhibitors for attendees to peruse along with panels, contests, live performances, and more. This year, the event will feature Maile Flanagan who provides the English voice of Naruto Uzumaki from the hit Japanese animated series Naruto. The convention will also have two additional media guests for this year, Aleks Le and Abby Trott, who are the English voice actors for Zenitsu and Nezuko respectively in the popular anime franchise Demon Slayer.

Tickets are $30 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday. Single day admission can be purchased at the door each day of the event - or in advance online (based on availability) on the WasabiCon PDX website (WasabiCon.com/pdx/). Weekend passes are sold out. The event begins at 10:00 AM on both days with Saturday programming going until 2:00 AM and Sunday concluding at 6:00 PM.

Masks will be recommended for anyone participating in WasabiCon PDX. Attendees who arrive with masks will be entered into an hourly raffle drawing for free with the opportunity to receive a second entrant for showing proof of vaccination.
